What Is the Recommended Viewing Distance When Watching TV?

For 4K TV models

When using a 4K TV, the recommended viewing distance is 1.5x the TV's vertical screen size. Our naked eye can't differentiate individual pixels when watching a 4K TV at this distance. This translates to pixels effectively disappearing when watching 4K images. This, in turn, creates the impression that we are watching the image with the same resolution and detail as real life.

Below are some ideal viewing distances when using common 4K TV sizes:

• 55 inch: viewing distance of 39 inches (3.28 feet)
• 65 inch: viewing distance of 47 inches (3.94 feet)
• 75 inch: viewing distance of 55 inches (4.59 feet)
• 85 inch: viewing distance of 63 inches (5.25 feet)
