The short answer? Yes! And it can sound fantastic.
At Arendal Sound, we designed the 1723, 1723 S, and 1961 series with a common goal in mind: delivering reference-level performance at each price and size point. That means you can mix these series together in one system and still achieve a cohesive and immersive audio experience.
A Shared Design Philosophy
What allows these speaker lines to work well together is their shared acoustic DNA:
-
Balanced frequency response
-
Controlled directivity
-
Low distortion performance
-
High dynamic output
-
Tight manufacturing tolerances and quality control
Even though there are physical and technical differences between the series, especially in terms of cabinet size, driver configurations, and output capability, but the overall tonal balance remains familiar enough to create a cohesive listening experience when combined.
What You Might Notice
While the timbre is closely matched, there will be some differences:
-
The 1723 series offers maximum output, dynamics, and bass extension — it’s our reference.
-
The 1723 S series maintains similar voicing but in a more compact package, with slightly less output.
-
The 1961 series brings excellent performance in a smaller, more budget-friendly footprint, but may not reach the same resolution or low-end authority as the 1723 models.
These differences are typically subtle and become even less noticeable once properly integrated through system calibration.
