We often get asked whether our 1528 Series speakers are THX certified. The answer is no, and here’s why.
Why Not THX Certified?
In today’s world, THX certification has become less relevant. The exact requirements behind the certification are not publicly available, and this lack of transparency makes it difficult for customers to understand what the label truly represents.
Rather than designing to meet a checklist, we chose to focus our resources on real engineering and verifiable performance.
The Arendal Approach
Instead of chasing a certification logo, we invested in state-of-the-art measurement systems, such as the Klippel Near-Field Scanner (NFS). This allows us to:
Provide fully transparent, detailed data on our speakers’ performance
Ensure repeatable, scientific testing across every model
Design speakers that reflect our philosophy of pure fidelity, not just a spec sheet
This approach gives us the freedom to make the 1528 Series sound exactly as we believe it should, neutral, dynamic, and emotionally engaging, without being constrained by predefined standards.
