We decided not to develop a 1610 Monitor 8 because it would not offer a meaningful advantage over the existing 1610 Tower 8.
Size and Practicality
Reducing the number of woofers from three to two would not significantly change the overall size of the speaker. A hypothetical 1610 Monitor would have:
A very similar footprint
Comparable placement requirements
No real benefit in terms of space-saving
In other words, it would not be noticeably smaller or easier to integrate into a room.
The Role Within the Lineup
The 1610 Tower 8 is already designed to be more placement-friendly compared to larger speakers like the 1528 Tower 8. Because of this, there is no clear gap in the lineup that a 1610 Monitor would fill.
In contrast, the 1528 Monitor 8 serves a very specific purpose within its series, offering a more compact alternative to the 1528 Tower. This same need does not exist in the 1610 range.
Focus on Meaningful Choices
Our goal is to ensure that every product in the lineup has a clear purpose and distinct advantage. Since a 1610 Monitor would overlap heavily with the 1610 Tower 8, we chose to focus on models that provide real and practical differences for our customers.
If you are unsure which 1610 model best fits your room and setup, our team is always happy to help guide you.
