The 1610 Series 8 – Design Insights articles give a deeper look into the engineering decisions behind the product. This section focuses on build quality, covering how the 1610 Series is constructed to deliver long-term performance, mechanical stability, and acoustic integrity.
Built for Mechanical Silence
The 1610 Series is built around cabinets and mechanical interfaces designed to stay acoustically quiet under load. Rigid enclosures, extensive internal bracing, and a multi-layered laminated front baffle suppress vibration and resonance, allowing the drivers to operate without interference. Finishes, terminals, feet, and mounting solutions are all engineered with the same focus on stability, durability, and long-term reliability, ensuring consistent performance over time.
1610 Cabinet Quality
The 1610 Series cabinets are engineered for low coloration, high rigidity, and precise time/phase behavior.
Baffle
The speakers feature a laminated baffle structure consisting of multiple thin layers of HDF glued and pressed together under several tons of pressure, which gives extreme rigidity and a total lack of resonance. The total baffle thickness is 46 mm or slightly above 1.8 inches.
Cabinet & Bracing
All cabinets are made of HDF (High Density Fiberboard), for high structural integrity, lack of resonance and lastly it is easier to get perfect cutouts using CNC for better fit & finish.
We use 25 mm panels for our 1610 Tower speaker, and 18 mm panels for 1610 Center, Bookshelf & Slim speakers. All of which have heavy bracing, with a vertical brace going through the entire length of the speaker, coupled with horizontal bracing to stiffen the construction further. The 1610 Tower, as an example, features 4 horizontal braces for ultimate stiffness and avoidance of resonance.
The translation into audio is that it improves the loudspeakers transparency, its dynamics and especially the pitch-black background in the soundstage. No lingering notes that shouldn’t be there. No muddying the bass performance. Just High-Fidelity.
1610 Finish & Visuals Integration
The 1610 Series uses a finish direction in line with our 1528 Series.
Polar, a white satin cabinet (without the pearlescent particles added for our 1528 front baffle) that features a metallic light grey color for trim rings and RØST Essence waveguide assembly. With matching light grey fabric grilles.
Basalt, a satin dark grey color with metallic particles in the paint that features a metallic grey color for trim rings and black metallic RØST Essence waveguide assembly. With matching dark grey fabric grilles.
1610 Terminals
The 1610 Series uses machined solid copper speaker terminals for maximum conductivity. With long-term reliability in mind, we use rhodium coating to ensure excellent corrosion resistance while maintaining stable electrical contact over time. Without ferrous materials anywhere in the signal path, the terminals eliminate magnetic interference at the connection point, preserving signal purity from amplifier to speaker.
1610 Feet
The 1610 Tower uses cast aluminium bars that not only act as a strong design feature, but also provide a stable foundation that will never wiggle or break. Built to last.
The 1610 Tower also comes with our Puck Plus feet, known from the 1528 Series. They decouple the speaker from the floor using M10 threads to ensure nothing will ever bend.
As an optional accessory, the Puck Pro kit also fits perfectly with the 1610 Towers, offering even better decoupling due to the extremely supple rubber used in the feet. The aluminium housing provides a sleek, high-end look, and height adjustability allows you to tilt the speaker forward or back to match your listening distance and height.
1610 VESA 100
The 1610 Slim is designed to deliver the unmistakable 1610 Series sound in a slim form. It features integrated VESA100 mounting compatibility and a flat wall-mount bracket included in the box, allowing for clean and secure installation without taking up floor space.
It is the ideal solution when you want true 1610 high-performance loudspeaker engineering with a discreet, room-friendly presence. Bringing the dynamics, clarity, and coherence of the 1610 platform while effectively disappearing into the space.
