The new series is here! Will they work with your existing Arendal Sound speakers?
So you love your existing 1723 speakers and want to add some 1528s to the mix - will it sound "good? Before purchasing you want to know if you can mix the lines of speakers and still have awesome sound?
The simple answer is yes, you can. Both series will follow the same design philosophy of balanced frequency response, controlled directivity, low distortion, great bandwidth, and high SPL output. Don't get us wrong - the 1528 series is a HUGE step up in terms of detail, resolution, soundstage, extension, and overall realism. Because it features a 3-way crossover design and bespoke drivers, it will not be a 100% sonic match for the 1723s. Our goal was to create something new and step up our game - we did not want to limit the quality of the 1528 to match the 1723 completely.
A great example is the center channel - if you're running 1723 Towers and want a center with a wider dispersion due to seating arrangements, the 1528 Center 8 or Center+ 8 will be a great fit. It's also significantly larger, so be prepared for that! If you're running 1723 as surround speakers, then you can absolutely upgrade to the 1528 for your frontstage.
Though they won't be a "perfect" match, the combination will still sound excellent - make sure to run your AVR/processor through calibration, as it will help mitigate the differences and blend them together even better!
